Key to the city π ποΈ
First and foremost, I want to give all the glory and honor to the Lord above. Without Him, none of this would be possible. Every opportunity, every open door, every lesson, and every blessing has helped shape me into the man I am today. And for that, I am forever grateful.
I want to thank my family and my close friends who have been in my corner, supported me, encouraged me, and believed in me throughout this journey. Youβve seen the highs, youβve seen the lows, and youβve continued to stand beside me. This moment is special to me, but it means even more because I get to share it with all of you.
To my beautiful wife,
@sadejames , thank you for being my partner, my support system, and my biggest cheerleader. Thank you for standing beside me as we continue to build our life, our family, and our legacy together.
And to my two beautiful daughters, Christian and Chloe, Daddy loves you more than words could ever explain. Everything I do, I do with you two in mind. I want you to grow up knowing that with faith, hard work, dedication, and a willingness to serve others, you can accomplish things beyond your wildest dreams. I hope one day you look back on moments like this and understand that your dad wasn't just trying to be successful β he was trying to build something that would last long after him.
To my mother, thank you for everything you've done for me. Thank you for your love, your sacrifices, and the foundation you helped build in my life. There are so many things that people see today, but they don't always see the people who helped make it possible. I will never forget what you've poured into me, and I am forever grateful to call you my mother.
To my aunts, uncles and cousins, thank you for the love, the support, the lessons, and the role you've played in my life. Family is everything, and I understand that the person I am today has been shaped by the people who surrounded me, encouraged me, and helped guide me along the way. I appreciate each and every one of you more than you know.
And I absolutely cannot stand here today without recognizing one of the most important women in my life β my grandmother, Clara.
Grandma Clara, thank you for pouring so much of yourself into me. Thank you for the love, the wisdom, the guidance, and the values you've instilled in me. So much of who I am today is connected to what you poured into my life. The lessons you taught me and the love you gave me have helped shape the man, husband, father, and mentor I continue to strive to be.
Receiving the Key to the City is an incredible honor, and I do not take it lightly. I understand that this recognition represents something bigger than me. It represents my family, my upbringing, my friends, my colleagues, my students, and the community that continues to inspire me.
My hope is that my story encourages somebody else to keep going. To believe in themselves. To trust God's timing. And to understand that where you start in life does not have to limit where you finish. So thank you City of West Columbia this means the world to me.
God bless you all, and thank you from the bottom of my heart! β€οΈ ππΎ
