I know there is a lot of talk about QBs sliding… I slid my whole career & never took a hit like you see now & that’s when hitting was allowed! I don’t believe it’s the sliding that’s the problem, it’s the TIMING of the slide! QBs are pushing envelope bc they are more protected & they expect defenders to just assume they aren’t going to keep running… bad assumption! Go down early or just be a running back - the in-between is the problem IMO!

It's okay to play JV football as a 9th or 10th grader.

Pre game warm up is entirely too long. And it’s more for the coach’s mental benefit so he can feel good about it and check that box. Even worse is when warm ups are over, teams go back indoors to sit around for 20-30+ minutes before going back out to play the actual game.

If a kid doesn’t want to play football, don’t waste time begging. Move on and focus on the kids you DO have out

You don’t have to meet on Sunday for 8 hours in order to have a successful gameplan

There are more high school coaches capable of coaching college football than there are college coaches capable of coaching high school football. Heck, there are HS coaches developing people, culture, and football better than many coaches in college and the NFL.

Practice doesnt need to be more than 2hrs.
