The 8 Realities of a HS Coach 1. It will consume you 2. There will be critics 3. You are not in it for the $ 4. There is no overnight success 5. You need a supportive spouse 6. You will not make everyone happy 7. You can’t want it more than the kids 8. It is still WORTH it!

C/O 2027 6’4 Trevin Curo has stepped up big time for us in the absences of 6’7 Andy Novelo and 6’6 Brandt Barker. In 6 games, Curo is averaging 11.0 PPG, 13.7 RPG (1st in SD) and 2.8 BPG. His ceiling is still far from being reached and he’s a pleasure to have in our program!

Fall ball notes: El Cap has two underrated prospects in 5-11 2026 G Kale Curo and 6-0 2027 G Chance Smith Curo is all effort on both ends, excellent leadership and intangibles and a solid downhill scorer. Smith is a solid shooter off the catch and crafty attacking close outs

Win graphic for NLDS Game 3 vs. the Dodgers at Petco Park. The background of the graphic is a gold sky with white clouds and palm trees. Small text at the top of the graphic features the MLB 2024 NLDS logo, “Game 3” and today’s date: October 8, 2024. Next to that, is tonight’s final score: Padres 6, Dodgers 5. Below that, large text reads “WIN”. In the center of the graphic, there is a large photo of Fernando Tatis Jr. looking up to the sky and yelling that overlaps over the “WIN” text. They are all wearing the Padres home white uniform. In the bottom left corner of the graphic, there is a white “Fight for the Faithful” logo.

You can tell how much a player cares by these 3 things… 1) How hard they play/energy they bring 2) How much they communicate 3) How much film they watch Lots of talk in the world these days… prove it.
