The biggest workforce challenge Canada needs to solve is the pace and scale of talent development, says @CollegeCan president and CEO @JohnstonPari.
"Canada does not just need more skilled people someday. We need the capacity to prepare them now – at the speed and scale required to build homes, strengthen healthcare, deliver major projects, increase productivity and grow new industries," Johnston says. "That means aligning major economic priorities with talent development, workforce planning and skills training. We need to ensure Canada's public colleges have the capacity to respond quickly to emerging needs and prepare talent where it is needed most."

Nous construisons 6 nouveaux brise-glaces pour la Garde côtière canadienne.
Ils seront tous fabriqués au Canada, avec de l’acier canadien, au chantier naval Davie à Lévis, au Québec – et permettront de créer près de 5 000 bons emplois seulement pendant la construction.

As Canada strengthens its industrial capacity, economic resilience, and sovereignty, colleges and institutes will be critical to training the workforce needed to bring major projects to life.
We’re building six new icebreakers for the Canadian Coast Guard.
All six will be built in Canada, with Canadian steel, at the Davie Shipyard in Lévis, Québec — creating nearly 5,000 good jobs during construction alone.
