I often see a common misconception about creatine supplements needed for muscle development. Creatine doesn't build muscle, at least not directly. It mainly helps your body regenerate ATP, the energy your muscles burn during intense exercise. That can help you squeeze out another rep or lift a little heavier, which could add up to more muscle over time. But creatine doesn't give your body the raw materials for new muscle. For that you need protein. When you lift, your body uses amino acids from the protein you eat to repair and build muscle tissue, which is why consistently getting enough protein matters so much. You can build muscle without creatine. You can't build it without amino acids.

Cyndi Munson wants Oklahoma voters to see her as a moderate. But how well does that description hold up when you look at her voting record? She voted against legislation banning lab grown meat and against SB 613, which prohibited certain gender transition procedures for minors. She’s also expressed support for putting abortion access before Oklahoma voters through a state question. You don’t have to agree or disagree with every one of those positions to ask a pretty reasonable question. What exactly makes her a moderate?

Since I’ve started sharing more fitness and nutrition content lately I thought I’d give everyone a little background on that side of my life. I have a BS in Nutritional Science, and fitness and the human body has always been something I’ve completely geeked out over. I started personal training when I was 25, earning certifications through ACSM and NASM. Much of my work focused on providing exercise training for cardiac patients recovering from heart attacks and other cardiac events, as well as working with women particularly busy moms. Being a mom myself I understood how difficult it could be to prioritize your own health while raising a family. As much as I loved working with clients I was always fascinated by the science behind nutrition. That eventually led me into the supplement manufacturing industry, where I worked with brands on product development, consulting, and sales. Now that I’m an empty nester, I’ve really enjoyed having more time to focus on my own fitness goals while continuing to learn and expand my knowledge. And while I absolutely love politics, it’s nice to have conversations about other things I’m passionate about without all the hate and animosity that tends to come with political discussions. There’s a lot more to me than politics, and fitness and nutrition have been a huge part of my life for a very long time. Excited that I’m meeting so many like minded individuals here on X with similar passions.
