This was an incredible week. We ended "I Love Coppin Week" celebrating our namesake Fanny Jackson Coppin. In 1865, she became the 2nd Black woman, in our nation's history, to earn a college degree. #Coppin State is one of only two HBCUs named in honor of a Black woman.

Last week, Toinette accompanied me back to Institute, WV. Where I was inducted into the WVSU ROTC Hall of Fame. I am the first WVSU president to be inducted. I enlisted in the Army, when I was 17. I was never an officer. I am truly humbled, moved and grateful. Thank you!
