@PhalaNetwork is voting to fund a monthly
$PHA buyback and burn with 2% of its cloud service revenue, rising to 5% from month 10.
Customers keep paying in USD. Each month Phala would use that share of revenue to buy PHA on the open market and permanently destroy it, even in months with no profit.
The proposal argues that higher GPU provider subsidies, including an earlier plan to speed up 160M PHA in rewards over 15 months, should be matched by stronger token demand. Its benchmark is Venice, which uses Phala's infrastructure and sends $5 of every $100 in API-credit purchases to buying back and burning its own token.
Also in the package:
- Positive adjusted profit: 25% buys and burns PHA, 25% buys PHA for the Treasury, 50% stays with Phala
- 5-25% discounts for paying directly in PHA
- Compute providers lock tokens as collateral worth ~30 days of gross hardware earnings
One voter backed it, arguing the ecosystem should return part of the value it draws from PHA to the token, so Phala's success directly strengthens PHA.
15 wallets have cast 5,514,126 PHA so far: 46.0% For, 51.5% Against, 2.5% Abstain. No quorum is set.
Voting closes October 5th at 10:24pm UTC.
