One morning in 2050, humanoid robots and humans stand at a crossroads. About humanoid robots: products, use cases, business ,HRI šŸ“®cyberobooo@gmail.com

2050
Humanoid Robots As intelligent automation systems, they are embedded within existing upstream and downstream processes, complementing and enhancing the capabilities of full-chain automation, such as production lines and warehouses. As auxiliary assistants, collaborating with humans and participating in human-led work and life, humanoid robots are learning and evolving from their masters, evolving from passive to active. As remote agents: Humans control robots through AR/VR and brain-computer interfaces, while humanoid robots act on their behalf, handling extreme tasks and meeting the human's needs. As complete agents: Humans empower the robots(AI), understanding their intentions, patterns, and preferences, autonomously planning and executing tasks, and establishing a symbiotic relationship with them. As human-machine symbionts: Humanoid robots' hands, legs, and other parts of the human body enhance the human being. As a replica of the human, embedding human memories, knowledge, experience, ego, and superego,a digital copy, within the human body,a kind of superhuman and real-world immortality.

A very cute Z-legged home humanoid. NYC-based Tuesday Labs’ Voxel is designed for everyday household tasks--tidying up, finding lost items, fetching things, and watering plants… I love the design choices. The bright orange makes it feel warm and approachable. It has no head, with its emotional interface built into its belly. Audio and visual interaction give it another way to communicate with people, without a conventional face. and,it has two 7-DoF arms, simple grippers, stereo RGB cameras, distinctive zig-zag legs, and an Adaptive Operating System. Voxel Series-1 is expected to start shipping in 2028, with reservations open for a fully refundable $200 deposit.
Introducing Voxel, a droid butler made by Tuesday Labs.

This is really cool an open-source tactile manipulation dataset for humanoid robots Real-robot tactile data is scarce. Sharpa has released SharpaDex v1.0 on Hugging Face: 28,993 real-robot teleoperated demonstrations across 59 bimanual manipulation tasks, totaling around 300 hours. The dataset combines visual observations, robot states, actions, and tactile data from all 10 fingertips, including force/torque signals and tactile videos. Humanoids get smarter by interacting with the physical world. touch matters.

Heavy object handling while walking still has to keep balance when arm forces hit the legs and torso, and when vision has to close the loop on placement. KAIST Humanoid v0.9 (DRCD Lab, arms with RAILAB) used onboard visual feedback to push objects up to 35 kg and lift up to 20 kg, arranging letter blocks into ā€œKAIST.ā€ The interaction skills came from deep reinforcement learning and human demonstration-based learning. It shows whole-body loco-manipulation working on this platform for that specific sequence.

3 Humanoid Robots Join a Surgical Team Samsung Medical Center in South Korea demonstrated how humanoids could assist a surgeon during a simulated gallbladder operation using goat liver tissue. Three humanoid robots. One surgical team: >one was teleoperated by a surgeon to perform incision, dissection, and suturing. >one handled surgical instruments, from picking up and delivering tools to receiving and returning them. >one held the laparoscope with one hand and retracted tissue with the other, keeping the surgical field visible. The project, ORchestra, is led by Samsung Medical Center in partnership with Rainbow Robotics, AIDIN Robotics, Haehaeho, SAIHST, Seoul National University, the National Cancer Center, and Jeonbuk National University Hospital. The robots use Rainbow Robotics’ RB-Y1 mobile humanoid platform, equipped with AIDIN Robotics’ robotic grippers and hands. The platform stands about 1.4 m tall, has 24–26 degrees of freedom depending on configuration, a 3 kg payload per arm, and roughly 600 mm of arm reach. The goal is to enter clinical trials in 2029. For now, the system is still in development. Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is developing its own general-purpose humanoid under its new RX robotics division. The company is reportedly targeting a prototype unveiling at CES 2027. Elon has made a much bolder prediction: Optimus could outperform the best human surgeons in about three years. At scale, he expects there could eventually be more robot surgeons than human surgeons on Earth. The future will arrive. Samsung’s demonstration shows a practical first step-- robots taking on instrument handling, camera positioning, and other physically demanding tasks while surgeons remain in control. Humanoid robot surgeons are already on the way.

When humanoid robot police appear on the streets… This is Fuxi--an anti-riot humanoid robot developed by China’s NORINCO (伏ē¾²-- named after a figure from ancient Chinese mythology, the first of the "Three Sovereigns"). Equipped with a shield in its left hand and a baton in its right, it is designed to suppress violence and maintain public order. Special operations, patrols, security…all through human-robot collaboration.
Impressive… NORINCO showcases its explosion-proof humanoid robot, called Fuxi, at the WRC. It is designed for reconnaissance and patrol missions in high-intensity environments, assisting in emergency response. Each humanoid robot can replicate the actions of its assigned operator in real time. The goal is to create a fleet of humanoid robots to replace human personnel in dangerous missions.

Humanoids are starting to look more like delivery workers. In warehouses and on delivery routes, hands alone aren't enough. People brace bulky packages against their torso or slide them along an arm to keep them stable and free a hand for the next task. Amazon researchers, with UC San Diego and the University of Michigan, developed Whole-Body Dexterity (WBD) to teach robots this skill. They generate grasping strategies in simulation, train them with reinforcement learning, then deploy a distilled policy on a real Unitree G1. With coarse teleoperation guidance, the robot can tuck a box under one arm, carry it from shelf to table, and place it. Across 50 real-robot trials, WBD achieved 90% success, versus 18% for direct retargeting and 4% for a generalist whole-body controller. As humanoids take on warehouse and delivery work, they'll need to carry packages the way people do, using their arms and torso, not just their hands.

A-Useless- Humanoid Companion Came across Codey, a child-sized humanoid from US startup Mind Children, designed to keep older adults and people living alone company. Its demos range from chatting(pharmacy web searches and medication reminders...), telling jokes and playing PictionaryIt can also track people with its eyes and make facial expressions. It’s still a prototype, with care and education pilots planned for 2027. --a robot that can keep someone company when a caregiver can’t be there, without trying to replace them. One thing I’d rethink is the face. The uncanny valley is hard to shake. Maybe AheadForm’s softer, more expressive facial designs could make Codey feel more approachable.

A humanoid butler you can control remotely from 9,000 KM away. Munich-based robotics company Devanthro has rebranded as Plim Robotics and introduced Plim, a wheeled humanoid designed for home care. Plim takes a hybrid approach: AI handles household tasks it can manage autonomously, while a remote human can step in when needed. Its Step-in Mode lets people connect through the robot using their own face, voice and movements, from up to 9,000 km away. It provides both assistance with household chores and human companionship.(humanoid agent) Plim says it learns from people and real home environments, carrying experience from other households into each new deployment and becoming more capable with continued use. The exact scope of its autonomous abilities remains unclear. The company advertises a 24/7 Mode and shows Plim tidying a table, but hasn't published a detailed breakdown of the tasks it can reliably complete without human help. The approach builds on Devanthro's earlier work with Robody. By October 2024, the company had reported pilot trials across four private homes, involving four seniors and 23 days of in-home testing in total. Plim has a three-wheel omnidirectional base, two arms and two-finger grippers. Its published specifications list 7 DoF arms, a 3 kg payload and a two-hour runtime. It brings 1X NEO to mind. Both are targeting everyday work in the home, combining autonomous capabilities with remote human assistance. 1X is pursuing a bipedal humanoid and building out NEO's developer ecosystem. Plim prioritizes wheeled mobility, with remote presence and caregiving at the center of its offering. --- TBH,a hybrid mode will accelerate the adoption of humanoid robots in the home, leading eventually to full autonomy--a process that, in itself, represents how people come to accept humanoid robots.

Replying to @Teslaconomics
Optimus and Cybercab will be the vast majority of Tesla’s value. The only things that will scale to incredible size (K2 and beyond) economically are super intelligence, robots, solar power and mass to space. And, of course, if you have the first two, the rest will follow. But Roadster is super cool, so we’re doing it anyway.
