If you're building NFL DFS lineups the same way you were 3 years ago, you might be leaving a lot of EV on the table. We reviewed this season's DraftKings Milly Maker winners, compared them against historical data dating back to 2022, and found some patterns worth paying attention to. Some are counterintuitive. All are actionable. Let's get into it. 🧵

There's a big difference between being contrarian and building a lineup full of low-owned players. In our Milly Maker review, lineups with 4+ players under 5% ownership performed at just: 0.59x historical expectation. 0.66x this season. Being different isn't an edge by itself. You need the right players in the right combinations. More in the thread below. 👇

The highest Vegas total on the slate isn't automatically the game you need to attack in NFL DFS. In Week 8, 49% of the top 1% of lineups had ZERO players from the two highest-total games. Only 12% of the field faded those games. As a result, they landed in the top 1% way more often. Sometimes the best way to gain an edge is recognizing where everyone else is looking. The sweats are the fun part though! Congrats on the strong lineup. CBB can be a hidden gem.
CBB action is back!!! I certainly don't miss the painful sweats though.

If regular players without massive bankrolls can secure back-to-back takedowns here... what’s stopping you? 🤔 We bridge the gap between "pros" and everyday players by teaching you the exact blueprints to win. The place you finally fit in is waiting.

Let's put all of this into a practical lineup-building checklist. When constructing large-field NFL tournament lineups (small fields, multipliers, leagues, cash games....all different approaches): 1- Prioritize QB + 2 pass catchers + 1 bring-back. 2- Be especially aggressive with double-stacks when playing underdog QBs. 3- Look for opportunities to build around games in the 46–49.5 total range. 4- Be cautious with 7–9.5-point favorite QBs. 5- Look for RBs on heavy favorites and WRs on heavy underdogs. 6- Limit yourself to one or two players below 5% ownership. These aren't guarantees. They're ways to improve the structure and probability of your lineups. You are simply trimming away constructions that just don't work often enough to take chances on them.

The bigger lesson? DFS isn't about finding eight players you think will score a lot of fantasy points. It's about understanding how those players score together, how their outcomes are connected, and how your lineup compares to the thousands of other people building around the same information. Everybody has projections. Everybody has ownership. The advantage comes from understanding what the data is telling you about how to put those pieces together. Build with a purpose. Stop chasing projections. Start building for the top. And our playbooks and blueprints help with that every week. Check us out --> dfsarmy.com
