.....Everybody realizes that there's no way
the Federation or Earth itself should've survived that encounter with the Borg in The Best of Both Worlds, right?

Does everybody see the smoothness of Helen's answer?
She was vague enough and spoke in broad concepts, encouraging creativity but not disparaging Milly or her movie at all. Truly a mature professional talking.
Remember when Milly was asked about her fellow Supergirls, she said "We don't have a club or anything. It's not like we hang out."
See the difference?
Helen Slater, the star of the original Supergirl movie released in 1984, shares her review of the DCU's new Supergirl film led by Milly Alcock:
"My understanding is that these myths should be changing. We want reinterpretations. That keeps it alive and keeps it going. It echoes what’s happening in the culture right now. It’s fun that it evolves and keeps developing.”

#Supergirl.
By Barry Kitson.
@BarryKitsonArt
Kara Zor-El.
Notice she's not a dirty blonde, her face isn't full of grime and mud, her costume is bright, she doesn't look like she hasn't slept in a week, her eyes are clear, she's not coming from a Bender.
No orange trench coat, no ear buds, no oversized sunglasses.
Y'know.
For those that actually like Supergirl.

Yeah but....
superhero castings tend to work best with unknowns.
That's what we get when a franchise is starting, the moneybags people want to see what's going to happen.
Once something is successful however, their GroupThink kicks in and they always believe Flavor of the Month actors are best.
So they've got Zendaya, Martha Kelly, Sydney Sweeney, Amara, Sadie Sink, David Harbour, Joseph Quinn, Charlie Heaton, Rob Morgan, Randy Havens, Joe Chrest, Joel Stoffer, and Inde Navarette from Obsession all in the #MCU.
That's what THEY want, the actors from "those shows the kids like." Not comic accurate casting.
I'm really really really sorry...
...but this just hammered home how much she doesn't look/give Rogue to me 😕

Well...in all honesty....Milly Alcock is probably feeling what Daisy Ridley has been feeling for a while now.
The realization of being tied to, and being the face of, a character that nobody likes and a movie that most people hate.
Unlike Daisy though, Milly had a solid career going before Supergirl and will continue to do so after all this.
I don't think Daisy's done anything of note outside of Star Wars. I mean, she's had other roles for sure, but none of them seem to have hit. So she's Rey forever now.
So if Milly is actually and purposely distancing herself from her version of Kara and that whole story world...
....I can't really say that I blame her.

The Lord told a parable about a rich man that suffered the horrors of Hell because of the way he lived his life. Could we make a movie about that?
Lucifer became Satan and fell from Heaven, and the Lord said He watched that. Can we make a movie about that?
The Lord went down to the Underworld Himself and snatched the keys from both Hell and Death to become their Master. Can we make a movie about that?
Christians shouldn’t be a fan of horror.
You shouldn’t be reading books, or watching movies, or listening to true crime podcasts that make you scared.
How many times do we read throughout Scripture: “Do not fear.”
And yet, we purposefully consume content that makes us scared. This is a direct contradiction of Jesus’ commands to not be fearful or be anxious about anything.

I didn't enjoy either of them.
I didn't hate Thunderbolts though, it was just more 'meh' stuff from a storyline that's been over for a while. Plus it doesn't really have a lot of repeat watchability.
Would've worked better with the actual Thunderbolts.
I'll never watch Butt-Kicked Man again in this life.
That wasn't a movie, it was a desecration.

Whatever her screen time ends up being, Kara's first appearance is Action Comics #252 (1959) by Otto Binder and Al Plastino, which also debuts Metallo. A CGC 8.5 sold for $22,500 on eBay Oct 13. Collectors are still paying up for her debut. #Supergirl
