I’d initially left Twitter after Musk takeover and ended up coming back and generally still like it. Every once in a while when I scroll Bluesky/Mastodon, though, I remember what we lost. Pretty self-selecting group of folks still on here.
On the one hand, I love technology.
And I love reading about technology.
And I love reading what people think about technology.
That's my job.
But my feed here is so entirely stuff with the technocracy that I'm just starting to hate it,.
The endless solutionists, the post emotion slack types, the techno asceticism , the optimizers, the productivity as religion, the solent systematisers , the sort of people for whom life would be better if it was all numbers, because then we could rank everything, and everything would make sense.
The kind of people who want parents or lovers to book time in the calendar. People who have an annual review and a shared Notion with their wife, and think of dating as A/B testing.
People who obsess over sleep scores, or lifeMaxxing
People who want life and thinking and loving and memory to be outsourced. People who think mates birthdays could just be done by your agent high fiving theirs, perhaps funerals too, but with sad faces .
