I just spoke last night at a church in Sterling Heights, Michigan on Islam and its comparability with our Constitution. This article reinforces what I and many others have been saying for years. His doctors are telling us that even when Turner is stable enough to leave the hospital, he needs significant support to keep him safe at home. That support is available through Arkansas’s CES Waiver, but Turner cannot access it because he is sitting on the waiting list. I have tried countless times to set up a meeting with you and have been turned down every time. So this time, I am asking you to come to us. Please come visit Turner and me at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Come see for yourself how sick he is. Let me tell you what it is like to have a 2-year-old with a rare, progressive neurodegenerative disease and severe epilepsy, and what it is like to be told that your child needs more support to safely live at home while also being told that the state support meant for children like him is unavailable because of a waiting list.
