✂️ Labour are cutting Scotland's budget by £650mil next year, that is £20 every second! 📉 This means less money for Scotland's public services and supporting people with the cost of living!

‼️ Andy Burnham's decision to replace standing charges with higher gas unit prices will push up energy bill costs in Scotland. 👀 Labour tried to pull the wool over the eyes of Scots, but no amount of trickery can hide the sky-high bills that people will be paying this winter!

🗣 With energy bills still sky-high and household costs continuing to rise, people expected real action from the Chancellor today, not just another short-term sticking plaster solution.

Wait a minute, on gas prices... By moving the cost of the standing charge on to the unit rate - has Andy Burnham actually just put up energy bills for the majority of Scots? We are colder country & have to put the heating on more, the more gas we use, the higher price we pay!
Community note
Dave Doogan previously argued in a 2024 parliamentary debate that redistributing standing charges to the unit price would empower consumers to reduce usage and lower bills. heraldscotland.com/news/26676771.…

The Labour Party has just made our reality even worse - their plan will make Scots pay more for our gas. Westminster and Treasury are making billions from Scotland’s gas while making our people pay more. Time to put Scotland’s energy in Scotland’s hands.

When Labour came to power, the price cap was £1,414 and they promised to cut bills by £300. Now, new EDF forecasts show the price cap hitting £2,389 in April – £1,275 higher than promised. Only with independence, can we cut bills and build a better fairer future for Scotland.

🗣️ Westminster has finally admitted that Scotland should have had an oil fund worth at least £1 trillion. Scotland’s vast energy wealth has been squandered. Scotland must not lose out again. Every penny of energy wealth from Scotland’s waters must be reinvested into Scotland!

‼️ Small businesses are the cornerstone of our communities, supporting local jobs and driving the economy. It’s time Labour reduced VAT, a tax over which Scotland has no control.
