What a movie! It looks decades ahead of its time in many aspects yet no modern filmmaker has the same tenacity as Ken Russell. I’ve watched and enjoyed some of his movies in the past but this was the first one that connected with me.

It’s an aggressively fine children’s film with beautiful animation. I was surprised by the amount of blood and violence. It has a rather mature, frankly pro war story by the end. It shouldn’t surprise me given the pro war nature of Travis Knight’s He-Man movie earlier this year.

Eric Bauza has sadly passed away at the age of 46. The modern voice of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck alongside many other beloved characters.
