Stellar is one of those networks where blockchain meets real world.
Stellar story is found in how money moves in the real world.
Today, we’re looking at Decaf Wallet, a non-custodial wallet built to make digital dollars easier to send, receive, hold and convert into local currency.
but the wallet itself is only part of the story.
The bigger opportunity is what the infrastructure makes possible.
Through Stellar Disbursement Platform, organizations can distribute USDC across borders, while Decaf gives recipients a way to receive and use those funds without depending entirely on traditional banking systems.
We’ve already seen this work in practice.
In 2025, the International AIDS Society used Stellar, USDC and Decaf Wallet to distribute 425 payments to 248 scholarship recipients across more than 50 countries during its conference in Kigali.
Instead of transporting cash internationally, sorting it into envelopes and having recipients queue to collect their stipends, the funds were sent digitally to their phones.
The same infrastructure is now being positioned for humanitarian disbursements, including emergency support for families, field workers and beneficiaries in regions where access to traditional banking is limited.
Decaf says its payment infrastructure has reached more than 180 countries and processed over $100 million in the last six months.
This is what real-world blockchain utility can look like
These are the kinds of stories we’re here to tell.
