The first game a game studio makes is usually the most time-consuming, and game a studio ever makes. But it could also be the investment that makes the next 3 games possible at a fraction of the development effort. That shit can't happen if you layoff your team after a launch.

Hey the new Resident Evil movie is great! It's litteraly a movie about a NPC and the balance between comedy and horror works so well for me. Zach Cregger puts away the games characters, so I don't feel I'm watching an adaptation.
