Here’s the end all of the whole Amy Acton thing:
Both she and her brother claim that her stepfather abused her when she was 12. She called the police, and an investigation located enough evidence for a jury to call him in.
Her mother, who was also a high ranking CPS worker, immediately grabbed the stepfather and fled across state lines. The stepfather remained a fugitive at large until he died.
At the end of the day - innocent men don’t run. Only men who feel like the evidence is stacked against them run, especially when they have an experienced and well-regarded CPS case worker coaching them who would be able to help them beat almost any charge.
What this tells me is that whatever happened was so horrific that it couldn’t be explained away, most likely the recovery of bodily fluids that matched her stepfather’s DNA.
Justice was never served, unfortunately. However, from the evidence presented at this time, I believe that her story is much more likely to be true, than the story her mother tells.
Coming to the present day and her political career - do I believe she’ll be a good leader? No. Absolutely not. However, Vivek is an incredibly subhuman sociopath, and I believe that the damage that will be caused by him far exceeds anything Amy could do when gridlocked by a GOP majority.
