And the States Project, which says they are the top funder in NC legislative races, projects that the NC state House will flip to Democrats. That means that they'll win at least 60 seats, up from 47, which is more than they expected heading into the night.

The war, tariffs, prices, the focus on vanity projects, telling voters they've never been richer or hotter. There's a lot!
The MAGA base will try to blame this debacle on the war but the main culprit is tariffs. Those taxes — which they are — hit states like Michigan Texas Kansas and Iowa the hardest. They hit just about every product not just gasoline, which while high hasn’t been exorbitant when compared to Biden years. Tariffs generated almost not spark to the manufacturing sector. It was an experiment that was doomed from the start. And even worse only the most deluded defended them

Every bit of news I’m hearing in NC is bad. Unaffiliated voters are breaking more than D+20 in early voting, if that holds, multiple Congressional seats will be lost and there will be serious losses General Assembly and State Senate.

When voters trust Ds over Rs on the economy, we have really screwed up a traditional advantage.
Turns out global tariffs, taking stakes in private companies (41), and embracing price controls doesn’t help the economy and voters don’t like it.
Just like 2006, Republicans have embraced big government and lost their way.

The Cooper ad with Mark Robinson was about the legislature as much as anything else.
We've been talking the well-known and finite Senate map to death, and even gotten into some deep cuts in the House, but nobody is prepared for some of the absurd state leg results we're apt to see by the time the dust settles.

In the first Trump administration, we spent a lot of energy fighting Europe’s reliance on Russian natural gas and standing with Ukraine.
