Why USDC rewards instead of $DUST
I want to personally explain this and apologize to everyone in the @DustswapOnBase community.
I built Dustswap together with partners, and from the beginning our goal was to build something useful, grow it, raise funding, and eventually reward our community through $DUST.
We spent months trying to raise funding for Dustswap, but unfortunately we were not successful.
Eventually we reached a point where we had two options:
Either completely sunset Dustswap and stop operating the product
or transfer the $DUST token rights to a third party so Dustswap itself could continue running.
We chose the second option.
Initially, there was also an agreement that we would receive a portion of $DUST tokens to distribute to our community.
Unfortunately, that agreement was later cancelled.
At that point, I no longer had control over the $DUST token or the ability to distribute it to Dustswap users.
That is why the current reward is being distributed in USDC instead of $DUST.
I know this is not what many of you expected, and I understand the disappointment.
I am genuinely sorry to every user who supported Dustswap, used the product, earned PP, swept tokens, swapped, bridged, and trusted what we were building.
I tried to make this work the way we originally planned, but I could not deliver everything I promised.
For that, I take responsibility.
The USDC distribution is the best way available to me now to return something directly to the users who supported Dustswap.
Dustswap itself will continue running and we will keep improving the product.
To everyone who supported me and Dustswap through this journey, thank you.
And if I disappointed you, I sincerely ask for your forgiveness.

the app, and some saw a profile showing zero points.
To be clear about what that was: we hit a capacity limit on our
database connections. It was not a loss of data. Your points, streaks,
referrals and volume were never affected at any point. If your profile
showed zero, that was the page failing to load, not your account
changing.
