𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡, 𝐇𝐲𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚! EACOP has handed over new sanitation facilities and sports equipment to the Kabonera community in Kyotera District, supporting improved public health, hygiene and youth development. The handover includes a four-stance ventilated pit latrine block, complete with rainwater harvesting facilities, as well as sports equipment for football, netball and volleyball. The initiative benefits Kabonera and neighbouring communities of Nabigasa, Kabugimbi, Lukoma and Kakoma, including schools in the surrounding areas. Through its Social Economic Investment (SEI) Programme, EACOP continues to support community-identified priorities, promote healthy living and create opportunities for young people to develop their talents through sports. EACOP participated in the 9th International Conference on Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MIE) held in October 2026 at the University of Dar es Salaam’s Institute of Marine Sciences in Zanzibar. Under the theme “Engineering Innovations for Sustainable Industrial Transformation towards Tanzania Development Vision 2050,” the conference brought together researchers, engineers, students, industry leaders and policymakers to exchange knowledge and strengthen university–industry collaboration. Speaking at the conference, Engineer Sandra Suleiman highlighted that EACOP’s support builds on its existing partnership with UDSM, which includes support for engineering students and capacity development.
