I’m thrilled about the news in my own school district, @KellerISD. But the fact that @PatriotMobile spent $54k on “doorknockers” for Tammy Nakamura in a district of 13k students and they still lost, is icing on the cake! Overall it seems they spent at least $120k on her alone.

Democracy is meant to be an arena for ideas. When we resort to winning at the expense of voter turnout, we’ve all lost. @MannyRamirez_TX should be commended not vilified for doing his job and protecting our fundamental right to vote and even proposing to ADD locations across Tarrant County while also maintaining the approved voting locations from March. He recognizes that it’s the communication of ideas and policies and ability to bring people together that wins elections not partisan politics. We may run for office under the banner of one party but once elected you take an oath to serve all. Thank you, Manny, for upholding that oath and continuing a career of public service from @fortworthpd and now as our county commissioner.

📲 Phone Bans are NOT a strategy‼️ 1. The iPhone is as old as a Senior in high school. The phone is this generation's device. 2. We need to create a SWIPING CLASS in school the same way we created a typing class for the computer. We need to teach students how to navigate algorithms and show them how to leverage their phones as their superpower. 3. We need to scale and certify phone education at the state and federal levels like we did with Drivers Ed. We have allowed students to drive 75 miles in their personal vehicle for decades. We need to do the same for the information highway. When the data showed that teenagers are dangerous on the road, we didn’t ban them from driving to school. We EDUCATED and EMPOWERED them, which led to gaining jobs after school and improving their economic situation for themselves and their families. This is our chance to make history again! Please share with anyone who just wants to ban phones. I understand the need for children under 13 and class time to be free of phones, but phone mitigation and education are needed at the secondary school level.
