A 20-year follow-up of the phase 3 EORTC 22922/10925 trial evaluated internal mammary and medial supraclavicular (IM-MS) nodal irradiation☢️ in node-negative #BreastCancer patients with central or medial tumors. IM-MS irradiation significantly reduced📉 breast cancer mortality (10.0% vs 14.2%) but did not improve overall survival. Higher non–breast cancer mortality offset benefits, highlighting the importance of modern radiation techniques to minimize late toxicity and optimize long-term outcomes.

The first #SOLTIYoung European Workshop brought together 35 young #breastcancer specialists from 10+ countries in Barcelona to develop academic clinical trial proposals and address unmet needs.
The @EORTC_BCG was represented by its members, supporting international collaboration.
The #SOLTIYoung European Workshop moves into its final and most defining stage: proposal presentation and discussion.
The concepts developed during the workshop are now being presented, reviewed and discussed.
This final day brings together perspectives from young professionals connected to leading cooperative groups and institutions across Europe, including ABCSG, ASEICA, Clinical Trials Ireland - UCC, EORTC/BCG, Swiss Cancer Institute, Unicancer and WSG.
This is where scientific ideas are challenged, refined and evaluated through different perspectives, from clinical relevance to feasibility and potential impact. The value of this final session lies in the process itself: turning group work into structured proposals, and structured proposals into possible next steps for breast cancer research.
