Did a COMBINED Women's 100/200 career ranking. Criteria: Olympics, Worlds, marks, longevity. (everyone here has at least 2 medals). NOT Factored: 60, 400, 4x1, 4x4, Indoors, World Cup, Commonwealth, Euros, USAs, Diamond, etc. Got live feedback so not 100% my list (but like 90%)

I'd say both Flo-Jo's records COULD be on borrowed time. That 10.49 is crazy though... Bolt's 19.19 is possible, but I'm mixed on it right now Men's 400 is likely (43.03 may be gone soon) MAYBE the Women's 400m (47.60 is still insane) But Bolt's 9.58 isn't getting touched IMO
Getting all of the world's best sprinters, fully peaked, at a Nairobi Worlds at 5,289 feet of elevation in 2029 might be the best opportunity we get to see 9.58/19.19 and 10.49/21.34 broken. Men's 100/200 WRs have stood since '09, women's since '88.

So happy Nairobi was chosen for 2029! First time ever in Africa, and Nairobi has shown it can put on an amazing meet When it comes to sprinting and jumping, this is literally a once in a lifetime opportunity. There hasn't been a global championships held at altitude since 1968!
World Athletics Council voted in Budapest this week to award the 2029 World Championships to Nairobi and the 2031 edition to Munich, from a field of four bids that also included London and Rome. 🏟️ 🌍 This will be the first time the senior World Championships have been staged in Africa ‼️ 🗣️ World Athletics President Seb Coe: "With this Council decision today, we continue to fulfil our mission of growing athletics worldwide with the hosting of our World Athletics Championships in Asia, Africa and Europe over its next three editions. Nairobi and Munich ultimately presented two compelling propositions. They offer very different but equally exciting opportunities for our sport, and I am delighted that we can now begin working with both cities to stage two world-class championships.” 🇰🇪 Kenya 2029 Nairobi bid for 2025 and lost to Tokyo, with infrastructure identified as the weak point. However, the 48,000-seat capacity Kasarani Stadium is undergoing a complete structural renovation ahead of AFCON 2027, which Kenya will co-host with Tanzania and Uganda. Nairobi hosted the 2017 World U18s, which drew packed houses at Kasarani, and the 2021 World U20s. 68% of Kenyans surveyed by World Athletics in fan research rated their interest in track and field as high, against a 39% global average, which made them the most track and field-interested market they have measured. 🇩🇪 Munich 2031 Germany gets the World Championships back for the first time since Berlin 2009. Action will return to the Olympic Stadium that drew an estimated 267,000 track and field fans during the 2022 European Championships.

21.47 into a -0.6 headwind is absolutely insane🤯
ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME 🤯 Melissa Jefferson-Wooden 🇺🇸 CRUSHES her second World Ultimate final as she wins the 200m in a huge PB of 21.47, moving up to #3 all-time. Jefferson-Wooden put a huge gap on runner-up Gabby Thomas, second in 21.77, as Americans sweep the top three with Kayla White running 21.93. Only Shericka Jackson and Florence Griffith Joyner have ever run faster.

Amazing weekend for Kenny! 100/200 double over insanely competitive fields in both events! Basically defying the odds in the 100m to win in 9.85 (arguably his best 100m race ever with the conditions), then coming away with a PB of 19.52 to comfortably win the 200m
THE FIRST DOUBLE CHAMPION 🥇🥇 Kenny Bednarek 🇺🇸 makes history as the first athlete to claim two World Ultimate titles, adding the 200m to his 100m with a HUGE 19.52 run and lifetime best, good for #7 all-time. Olympic champ Letsile Tebogo 🇧🇼 runs a season’s best 19.76 for second as Courtney Lindsey 🇺🇸 finishes third in 19.79, his best time of 2026 as well.

Sally Sarr🇸🇳 wins the Women's Triple Jump with 15.06m, just ahead of Velazco's🇨🇺15.04m! Amazing competition with 2 women over 15m, and 3 women over 14.90m Sarr with a legendary season that included a national record (15.08m), and a total of 3 marks over the 15m barrier!

15.04m for Davisleydi Velazco in the Triple Jump! Moves her to 2nd place behind Sarr's 15.06m. The first time in 3 years we've seen two women jump 15m in the same triple jump competition. Also the first time since 2008 that two women legally went over 15m without Yulimar Rojas

2 rounds of the triple jump down and Sarr still leads with a best of 15.06m. Perez-Hernandez is 2nd with 14.90m and Velasco is 3rd at 14.83m
Sheesh! Saly Sarr already out to 15.06m (+0.3) in the 1st round of the Women's Triple Jump!

No more flat 400m for @_Kingben_ ❌ 🗣️ “I’m done. This year was just for fun, and I proved that I can run with the best. I pretty much beat every seasoned 400m runner in pretty much every race this year.” Rai Benjamin’s exploratory season in the flat event went about as good as he could’ve hoped. The Olympic and World champion over 400mH ran a PB of 43.83, won the London Diamond League, and only lost once to anyone other than Collen Kebinatshipi. Next season, the race for sub-46 is on. 🎥 FULL INTERVIEW: piped.video/nLCD-f6qyno?is=RLyd…

Rai Benjamin deserves some serious flowers for this double💐 Two 2nd place finishes Two VERY demanding events Two VERY competitive fields Historically It might get overlooked because he didn't win, but this has to be up there as one of the greatest doubles in the sport
Three days. Four races. Big payday. 💰 Rai Benjamin 🇺🇸 completes one of the most ambitious championship doubles in track and field history, finishing second in both the 400m and 400m hurdles to take home $150,000 in total prize money at the World Ultimate Championship. Benjamin ended his long weekend with a season’s best 46.40 in the hurdles, the third fastest time of his career.

The progression of the men's 400mH over the past 10 years has been absolutely insane! 2016: sub-46: 0 men/0 times sub-47: 1 man/1 times sub-48: 45 men/314 times 2026: sub-46: 2 men/3 times sub-47: 5 men/56 times sub-48: 74 men/590 times
THIS RIVALRY ALWAYS DELIVERS ‼️ The Big Three of the 400m hurdles provides a thriller of a final once again, as Alison dos Santos 🇧🇷 gets a World Ultimate title to go with his world record and Diamond League title and he, Rai Benjamin 🇺🇸, and Karsten Warholm 🇳🇴 all break 47 seconds. After being pushed by Warholm early and Benjamin late, dos Santos breaks the tape in 45.98, becoming the first man in history under 46 seconds on multiple occasions. Benjamin completes his ambitious 400/400H double with a 46.40 season’s best for second as Warholm hangs on for third in 46.78.

THE BIG GUNS ARE OUT 😆 Not to be outdone by Kenny Bednarek’s 19.86 to win heat 1, Sinesipho Dambile 🇿🇦 runs EVEN FASTER in heat 2 of the World Ultimate 200m semis, clocking a 19.80 ahead of Andre De Grasse’s 🇨🇦 19.87. The top FIVE finalists break 20 seconds in the semis and 2026 World bronze medalist Bryan Levell 🇯🇲 is just the sixth fastest overall in 20.08.
