We’ve developed an Fe LMCT photocatalytic strategy for the direct decarboxylative borylation of nonactivated carboxylic acids…
The method enables the one-step conversion of native aliphatic & aromatic carboxylic acids into versatile organoboron compounds without preactivation.
Congrats to Paula, Quentin & Sarah for an outstanding collaborative effort. Thanks to #eLeMCiTy@AgEInves@FundacionSeneca@UMU
Massive congrats to Sara Fernandez for her successful PhD defense. As the first PhD graduate of @FjhGroup at @UMU, she has pushed the boundaries of fluoroalkylation chemistry by repurposing fluorinated carboxylates as radical reagents using Fe LMCT photocatalysis…
PhD Position available in our group.
We are looking for candidates for an open PhD position to join our group @UMU to work on Earth-abundant metal photo(electro)catalysis and organic synthesis 💡⚡️🧪 Deadline 30 May. RTs appreciated. More info 👇
🚀 New paper out!
We’re happy to share our latest work on (hetero)arene C–H chloro- and bromodifluoromethylation enabled by Fe photodecarboxylation catalysis 🔆 just published in Organic Letters @JOC_OLpubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…
The method features broad scope and delivers fluorinated intermediates primed for downstream diversification 💊. Leveraging this reactivity, we developed a streamlined C–H fluoroacylation protocol...
New paper out! We're happy to introduce a photoelectrocatalytic strategy for the trifluoromethylation of (hetero)cyclic scaffolds using readily available trifluoroacetates and Fe catalysts, powered by light + electricity. Just published in @NatureCommsdoi.org/10.1038/s41467-026-6… ...
... mechanistic studies reveal a dual role of Fe: LMCT photodecarboxylation + catalytic redox turnover. Mild, scalable and suited for late-stage functionalization 💡+⚡️. This project was possible thanks to the tremendous work of @sargarx and...
