GIS: A @raisinadialogue –@orfonline Initiative AI • Biotech • DPI • Emerging Tech Ideas ignite impact. Conversations catalyse commitment.

A momentous morning of conversations on emerging technologies. @GIS_Impact was honoured to host H.E. @ParmelinG, President of the Swiss Confederation, and a high-level Swiss delegation in New Delhi for a closed-door conversation on opportunities for Indo-Swiss collaboration in a rapidly evolving emerging-technology landscape. In collaboration with @SwissEmbassyIND, the conversation came at an important moment for Indo–Swiss engagement in emerging technologies—and ahead of Switzerland’s hosting of the Geneva AI Summit 2027, under the theme “Bridging Innovation and Trust.” We are proud to have hosted this conversation, grateful to the Swiss delegation for joining us, and look forward to building on this engagement in the years ahead. @Rudra_81 @orfonline #EmergingTechnologies #TechDiplomacy #ScienceDiplomacy

Pacific Islanders' ancestors were the world's greatest navigators—crossing 30 million square kilometres of ocean using only stars and waves. Could #AI and a #DigitalPublicInfrastructure (#DPI) approach be the Pacific's new wayfinding tools for the digital age? Quantum sensing could be one of the first areas of quantum technology to deliver practical applications—from precision navigation to medical diagnosis and military surveillance. What can quantum technology actually do today, and what remains out of reach? @PrateekTri1990 explores the opportunities and limitations. Read on ORF: or-f.org/40602 #QuantumTechnology #AI #Quantum

Three million mothers. SMS-based access. Human clinical judgement where it matters most. Jacaranda Health’s PROMPTS service shows how AI can help extend maternal-health support while directing scarce clinical capacity towards urgent cases. Now operating across all 47 counties in Kenya, the service is also expanding its reach beyond the country. What will it take to scale this model responsibly? AI diffusion is a buzzword in dialogues, but what does it mean to use AI on ground? The @GIS_Impact team, alongside @PeoplePlusAI, spent two days in Anand, Gujarat—meeting women smallholder dairy farmers using Amul Sarlaben—an AI advisory platform. They also met with the builders responsible for developing the AI solution associated with @Amul_Coop across Gujarat. This visit is part of GIS’s ongoing efforts to understand how AI and DPI capabilities translate into impact on ground. Our mission is to document what works, distil lessons from builders and adopters worldwide, and turn those insights into knowledge that can inform AI innovation and adoption elsewhere. Here are a few glimpses from the trip. #AIDiffusion #GlobalInnovationSquare #ArtificialIntelligence

For a pregnant woman unsure whether a symptom signals an emergency, waiting for medical advice can carry serious risks. Reaching a health facility may also mean time, travel, and cost. In Kenya, how can mothers get timely guidance when clinical support is stretched? Jacaranda Health’s PROMPTS offers one answer. Explore its story in the Global AI Impact Commons by Aishanya Gupta. What does it take to cross the absorption frontier? Three things: data AI can read, systems AI can act on, and outputs that can be checked against ground truth. The third may be the hardest—and the one every sector will have to build for. Read more by @matthan: orfonline.org/research/the-a… #AbsorptionFrontier

Who gets to define what “AI safety” means for the developing world? In his latest article,@Rudra_81 argues that India has a narrow window to build an AI Safety Institute capable of developing benchmarks and evidence relevant to countries whose languages, markets and risks are often overlooked.
