A few years in the making but coming in mid September from @eriu_books, my life of the former Taoiseach, Brian Cowen. From Clara to the Troika, from the GAA to the bank guarantee, and much else besides. It can be pre ordered from these fine establishments geni.us/BrianCowen
Sharing some pretty august company on the bookshelf at Dubray books with my fellow Corkonian Simon Zebo, Max Hastings, Patrick Radden Keefe and @simonmontefiore. And over at Hodges Figgis, swoon, I even get my own stand.
Delighted to be nominated for the Last Word listeners’ choice award at @IrishBookAward. It’s extra special for me as I’ve been a regular contributor to @lstwrd for many years. Thanks to my publisher @eriu_books. You can vote here irishbookawards.ie/vote/
Oh cool, next week you can go to Paddy Cosgrave's communist cafe to hear about a "revolt against capitalist rentierism", and then a few weeks after you can go celebrate Big Tech at Paddy Cosgrave's conference where tickets cost a lot, and he uses mass volunteer labour. Cool!
“When did you realise that we had completely lost the run of ourselves as a nation, grandad?”

I've donated a copy of the 25th anniversary edition of Cirque Du Freak to this year's Children In Read, which is raising funds for the BBC Children In Need Appeal.
I will sign, date and dedicate, and cover shipping to anywhere in the world.

The paedophile George Gibney has been sentenced to 15 years and six months in jail. Johnny Watterson kickstarted the process of bringing him to justice over 30 years ago. This is a long read and a brilliant read.

I can’t believe that Jeffrey Archer - who was always so alive - is suddenly dead. We had a wonderful day together yesterday - as anyone who was there will tell you, he was in brilliant form on stage yesterday celebrating the publication of his 50th and final best-selling novel.
