Startup Village Borneo 2026
@SuperteamMY IS A WRAPPPP!!!
Five days in Kuching. 75 builders. 32 projects submitted!
A few weeks ago this was a slightly mad idea: take Malaysia's and international Solana builder community out of KL, put them on an island for a week, and run an immersive programme instead of another weekend hackathon. It only worked because a lot of people decided to back it before there was anything to show.
So, some thank yous. Long ones.
🤝
@socoe_s
To the Socoe team, you carried more of this than most people will ever know. The press and media coverage that put Borneo in front of the whole country, the logistics behind every workshop, and the venue support at voco Kuching that gave us a home for the week.
None of that shows up in a demo, but nothing happens without it. You treated this like it was your own programme, and Borneo is on the Web3 map because of you. This partnership is just getting started.
🎬
@littleunusualHQ
And now for the people you never saw but definitely heard. To our anchor production partners, every slide that appeared when it was supposed to, livestream that didn't drop mid-pitch was you. We were told production teams are supposed to be invisible. You were so invisible we almost forgot to thank you, which is the highest compliment in your line of work. Consider this us remembering, loudly.
💚
@SolanaFndn
To the Solana Foundation thank you for co-hosting this with us and for the mentorship support that gave every team access to people who've actually built and shipped. Having the Foundation on the ground in Sarawak, in the room and face to face with builders, sends a message no deck ever could: that builders here are part of a global ecosystem, not a corner of it. Thank you
@decentra1ized_
🙏 To all our partners
Every partners that sent a mentor, ran a session, or simply said "yes, we're in" when we pitched them Borneo, you made this possible. Programmes like this don't run on ambition alone; they run on people willing to show up for a community that's still being built. You did.
🧠 To our mentors and judges
You gave honest feedback when it would have been easier to be nice, and stayed in the corridors long after your slots ended. Teams changed direction because of one conversation with you. That's the whole point.
🛠️ To the builders
You're the reason any of this exists. You showed up, shipped, pitched, got torn apart, rebuilt, and pitched again. Whatever you build next, keep going and tag us. Amplifying what you do after the event is the entire job.
⚙️ And to my team
@SuperteamMY @tuakdotsol @semiii @nikkideyy
Superteam MY is four people. Marianne, who co-led this with me and held the whole operation together. Semi, who built the website that ran the programme end to end. And Nikki, our content queen, who captured every moment and made sure the rest of Malaysia saw what was happening in Kuching. Four people, one very big week. Proud of yall.
We chose Borneo on purpose. Malaysia's builder story can't only be a KL story. This week proved the talent, energy and community are already there,they just needed a room.
A quote say:It literally needs a whole village to ship the next unicorn, and the place is Startup Village Borneo 2026!!
Recap, photos and project highlights coming soon on our official account! Until then: terima kasih, Sarawak. We'll be back.
