Are you not concerned about the brazen vote rigging during the election and the moves to imprison Bolsonaro after the vote, @McFaul? How are these moves furthering “the democratic process”?
I don’t know all the policy positions of Lula, Machado or the Serbian students; some I know that I do not support. But that’s the point. Democracy is a process of allowing voters decides who rules. It’s not about who wins. Yesterday, the democratic process in Serbia and Brazil got stronger. Hopefully Machados return to Venezuela will lead to democratic restoration there too.
