While i admit this is far from consensus Prince of Darkness and Christine continue to be the two Carpenter films I find myself revisiting more than any others on Halloween. Both are Top 5 Carpenters, the former being his best #fightme
This is an opinion of mine that has only cemented itself further and further with each subsequent rewatch. Prince of Darkness is an all-time great horror film from the master himself.

Caught FATHERLAND. Pleasantly surprised by how affecting it proved to be. A spiritual successor of sorts to Wild Strawberries; impeccably crafted, quietly profound, and gracefully monumental. A film of remarkable restraint that carries genuine intellectual and emotional weight
The number of news and editorial sites that are becoming nothing more than pay-for-play machines is distressing. Perhaps more distressing? How few people realize how much of this content is pay-for-play to begin with.
I have not seen a single person on here mention ONE IN A MILLION. I didn't realize it came out this weekend myself. Anyway, it's among the best docs of 2026, and it deserves more attention.
It's an incredible weekend to see a movie. Here's the best films now playing in theaters:
Possible Love
You Can See Everything
NAZA
Fatherland
Once Upon a Time in Harlem
Wildwood
The Only Living Pickpocket in New York
Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother
Wicker
One in a Million
La Bola Negra

I remember some internet cretin yelling at me on here years ago for suggesting that Lee Chang-dong > Bong Joon Ho. The comparison is reducive, sure, but hun, it's not particularly close.
Whalefall- The film’s interwoven structure undermines its intensity and viscerality, undercutting its protagonist’s desperate struggle for survival with a rote daddy-issues emotional through line that never quite lands. There is a version of this that is an 85 min face melter
I'll be back in Baltimore next week for my mother's 75th birthday. I may have issues because, for the last few weeks, I've wondered whether she would be down to see THE DEVILS (she wouldn't be). In retrospect, we can just go ahead and annex the "may" from the above statement
It's all fucked by insecurity and the conception that someone can't love cinema, understand it, and be good at math/business. It's particularly funny when half of them routinely embrace the fallacies of empiricism and then get confused when their AI algorithm is way off... 🤡
Sorry if this offends but Digger is Iñárritu's best film. Not saying much, sure, but this is a far more interesting self-reflexive meta-satire than people are giving it credit for. Frankly, I don't get the vitriol thrown at this film...even if one can't get on its wavelength..
