Bill O'Brien went 4-12 and got extended with more power. He also overshaw a hideous playoff collapse and was then given the GM title. This ownership's tendency is to stay the course if you've made the playoffs before. Doubt you'll see something like John Elway turfing John Fox.
Sadly, a loss vs. the Chargers might give the McNairs the push that they need to bring the hammer down on this whole experiment.
As much as I want a turnaround this season, changes must be made, and sometimes it takes catastrophe forcing the issue.
