Two things can be true at once. Arsenal do need to find ways of creating more against low blocks. Those left frustrated by yesterday’s performance present some valid concerns.
But we’re also incredibly effective, the reigning champions & the bigger picture is still a beautiful one.
The thing I don’t get is the criticism from the outside. Whether people like it or not our identity is based on structure, hard work & being tough to beat.
We can’t win in terms of the unfair narratives around us. They used to say we had a ‘soft underbelly’ and now we’re ‘unwatchable’. As long as we’re relevant, we will always have to deal with this nonsense.
Call me a fence sitter but just observing the debate that’s developed since the Forest game - both camps have a point. We want/need more from our offensive players but we’ve also won at a ground that’s been notoriously difficult for us in recent times.
Debate/conversation is good. Highlighting development areas doesn’t make you ‘negative’ and backing the boys doesn’t make you naive 👍🏼
