Never in a million years did I think YouTube would lead to me narrating an official Halo audiobook and getting to play 4 Elites, a Brute, a Prophet and a Jackal in a story that leads into my favourite Halo level of all time Truly an honour, really proud of how it turned out and I can't wait for y'all to hear it 🙏

Activision say that the next Call of Duty will be a ‘new sub-franchise’ “We’ve already stated that a future title is going to be a new sub-franchise and we’ve already laid the groundwork.” (via @thegamebusiness)

Since the surgery I haven’t been able to go the gym, work on vids or drink alcohol… So I’ve spent the past few days doing nothing but watching Lord of the Rings (extended editions, ofc) and playing Gears E-Day (again) I feel lazy af, but there are worse ways to recover 🤷‍♂️

Surgery done ✅ Don’t recommend having your face covered in iodine, cut deep into then cauterised, but the nurse played Deftones in the surgery room whilst they operated so I can’t complain (even though I feel like I’ve been shot in the face by beanbag rounds)

Getting plastic surgery tomorrow morning on my nose/eye area to fix a problem I've had for 2+ years now (unironically, and for real this time) If my jawline looks suspiciously sharp from hereon out the plastic surgery had nothing to do with it it's purely a coincidence trust me

Just finished Gears E-Day - 9.5/10 One of my favorite video game stories ever, tied with Gears 2 as my GOAT and honestly the best Xbox Exclusive since Halo: Reach I can't even begin to describe how fucking good this story is, I've not felt this way about a game in a LONG time

As a final farewell, Halo Studios just dropped a load of concept art on Zeta Halo that's seemingly from their now scrapped Halo 7... Infinity crash site ("Helms Deep"), The Endless, a Forerunner stone city, Ancient ruins and more 😭 They should've done Campaign DLC man, we were fkn robbed: halowaypoint.com/en-gb/news/…

Just beat Act 2 of Gears E-Day and holy shit this game is going beyond my expectations Without spoiling anything, it really is Halo: Reach but for Gears of War (and I mean that in a good way) This might be a Gears 2-tier Campaign...

People seriously need to lay off Brian for this, I get how it looks but I can promise you it's not the thinly veiled threat some are interpreting it as I'm pretty sure he's referring specifically to Forerunners/Sentinels not voiding NDAs they may or may not still be under
I’m all for a mini boom of Halo content creation in an otherwise awful time but some of you please double check those NDAs and the expiration date on them. They might still be enforceable (or they might not). ✌️

Sigh, this is being misinterpreted 😮‍💨 I’m looking for out for community members who might still be under an active NDA and not realize it. That’s all.

Replying to @DestinLegarie
there are too many claims and sources flying around of late to start addressing them all (in due time), but this one is annoyingly false. There was no "leadership blacklist." Sure, some ppl and partners understandably don't like negative/critical sentiment or coverage - particularly with things like review copies/early access which are inherently intended to drive (good) awareness. Xperia's video actually directly led to some specific AI improvements at the finish line. Who knows who might have or have not been included "next time", there was no next time even on deck. It's all just speculative and baseless. "the thing we don't like ended up in the game" doesn't correlate to "the developers only listened to yes-men in the community." Overall project and stakeholder vision and intent, real world constraints (time/resources), and/or conflicting preferences shared by different groups are all reasons why things end up the way they do that any of us may not like in the end result. In my experience in some of these groups, feedback was measured and mature, and there were countless debates, but certainly not just glazing for the sake of glazing. Personal opinions vary as much as those across this passionate community. T Additionally, something like a council group is but one vector of insights that goes along with traditional user research (administered hands-on tests and focus surveys), inputs like support tickets, playtesting, partners, and even anecdotal community feedback - positive and negative (videos, posts, etc.). I'm grateful for everyone who has shared feedback in a respectful, constructive manner wherever and however it occurred. It's a gift and Halo is fortunate to have such a passionate longstanding community. I look forward to seeing how community and player insights shape the future of Halo.

Ok, I need to jump in and clarify a few things: Firstly: Unfortunately Remy misspoke in his video, I was not told I was blacklisted from the Campaign Evolved Sentinels because I was too honest during Halo Infinite testing, but rather I was told I wasn't invited to the Forerunners for Halo Infinite because I would be too honest about the game or something along those lines. Basically, my inference is that they knew my feedback would be critical about it so I wasn't invited. That's both my inference, and also what I've been told from sources that I know for a fact are 99.9% accurate. Now, I don't want people to infer from this that the Forerunners were just one big group of yes men who didn't push back on anything. Again, I know for a fact that is not the case, at least with some people in that group who I know. Please don't use this information as a tool to further beat those people with. Everyone I know in that group put in an excessive amount of work to steer the ship that was Halo Infinite through disaster after disaster, and the way many of them have been mislabelled in the years since is, honestly, frustrating as fuck. They don't deserve it. I will say, even though I've never been told this, I do presume that I wasn't invited to the Sentinels to give early feedback on Campaign Evolved for much the same reason, but that's just speculation and that's not what this post is about. Secondly: I've never been explicitly aware of any "blacklist", so to speak, but of course Rebs' recent report implies one did exist. However, I was always quite confused as to the inner workings of all this, because it was abundantly clear the studio didn't want to work with me on giving early feedback on games, however they were always extremely enthusiastic to work with me in other endeavours. I've said this a lot over the years, but the HCS team are a great example. They were always super down to get me involved with things at events, be it stage work, panels or even more recently judging the $10,000 short film contest at Halo Fest. I have several instances of the HCS team not just wanting to work with me, but going above and beyond to accommodate me in ways they had no obligation to. I won't name names, but there are several people on that team who I have infinite admiration for because of this. Then, there's the narrative team, who especially in recent times have also been extremely eager to work with me. This year alone, they cast me in the Waypoint Chronicles audiobook, then cast me again in Still Midnight, and even went as far as writing an entirely additional scene for my character because they loved the lines we sent over, and wanted a flashback prologue scene to open episode 3. Again, the same applies here - everyone I worked with on the narrative team was great, and I don't have a single bad thing to say about any of them. That's pretty much all I have to say on this, just wanted to clarify a few things and (finally, I've been waiting to do this for years), touch on the confusing dissonance I experienced being excluded from certain things, but enthusiastically involved in others, but it is what it is, we're about to entire an entirely different era for Halo so all this stuff is kinda redundant now. Activision are likely going to operate very differently in this regard to how 343/Halo Studios ever did, and we're just gonna have to wait and see how things go.

To think that the reason modern Halo hasn't succeeded is because of its "shooting and shield mechanics" is fkn insane I don't need to explain why or what the real problems were, I just find this line of thinking - and the idea that Halo STILL in 2026 needs a BR - to be insanity
New generation of shooters do not fuck with halos shooting and shield mechanics fundamentally The halo universe could make for a phenomenal BR but only if halo rids itself of its shield break / headshot damage system
