"You hear of people in their 20s & 30s following their dreams, & then when you get to 60, you think you're too old. You're never too old, follow those dreams."
Read the inspirational story of MIC student, Pat Savage, who has returned to education after 45 years of #farming.
Pat is currently in his first year on the Bachelor of Arts at MIC #Limerick where he's studying English, History, Philosophy, & Drama & Theatre Studies.
In this week's @farmersjournal, Pat chats about taking over the family farm at 18, the enjoyment of education as a mature student, and why everyone should have the opportunity to follow their dreams.

I was honoured be asked to contribute a chapter to this tribute to Professor Joe Lee, who supervised my MA thesis @UCCHistory in the 1970s.
A striking portrait by Mick O’Dea adorns the cover of A Tract for Our Times, a fascinating retrospective on giant of Irish historical studies Joe Lee and the cultural impact of his magnum opus Ireland 1912-1985: Politics and Society over three decades since its publication.
