After the Pistons’ 14-win season, Cade Cunningham had FOMO watching the playoffs. He texted someone he knew would understand.
I spoke with them both for an exclusive on how that text sparked Detroit’s two-year turnaround:

Duncan Robinson looks as confident as ever to start the season. He’s one of the NBA’s best 3-point shooters, and his gravity is making life easier for his Pistons teammates.
His impact has been vital to Detroit’s 3-0 start.
“He carries so much weight.”

Asked Duncan Robinson how comfortable he feels in the Pistons’ offense at this point:
“Good, just trying to be aggressive. Not trying to get too caught up in numbers like that. More so just about process of taking the right shots. … This is a super unselfish group.”
Daniss Jenkins on his mindset tonight:
“I hear all the noise. I know I’ve got expectations, I’ve got my own expectations. DJ is a dawg, that’s one thing he is. He don’t back down from nothing. He’s going to come in and get the job done each and every night.”
Cade Cunningham on the Pistons’ 3-0 start:
“It don’t matter. We’re going to keep on going and let whatever people that are talking about us say whatever they want to say about us.”
Pistons hang on to beat the Sixers 106-93.
Detroit improves to 3-0. Cade had a team-high 26 points, 8 assists, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Duncan had another big game with 21 points on 5/9 from long range.
Pistons take a 56-44 lead into the half.
Cade has a game-high 15 points and 7 assists on 6/10 from the field. Collins has 12 and 8 boards. Duncan has 9 and he’s a game-high +25.
