I really don’t understand the point of announcing a story that teachers can work a four day week if there’s no funding to make it happen as all it does is invite even more negativity to a profession who’s morale is already on the floor!

At what point are we gonna start using some common sense in education? How is it the case that nearly half of teachers are still expected to write or stamp VF in a book to indicate verbal feedback?

In today’s education news, could teachers be allowed to work a four-day week in school? Well, yes, but it won’t actually happen because there’s not enough funding to staff adequately now. let alone if you then need people to cover teachers who might be working from home.

More breaks than a Kit Kat? How about we start understanding that the issue isn’t school breaks it’s creating a society that makes it impossible for working parents to make the school breaks work, and the answer isn’t to get rid of the breaks because children need them.

Does anyone know who and when it was decided that 30 kids to one teacher in a typical classroom is the golden ratio, because in this day and age it feels impossible and I’m convinced smaller class sizes would make the biggest difference to the job as a teacher.
