Prostate surgery in men with neurological diseases should neither be dismissed nor adopted routinely. It should be reserved for phenotyped patients in whom BPO has been demonstrated.

An important read for all enucleators… great work from Prof. Mario Sofer and cols. They propose a very interesting new concept, a new mechanism that contributes to explain temporary stress incontinence after AEEP, the radial forces exerted by the scope during enucleation

💙This is your reminder that it’s absolutely okay to ask for help. Reaching out to a healthcare provider is one of the strongest steps you can take.

October is #NationalPhysicalTherapyMonth! This month, we’re shining a light on pelvic floor therapy; a vital, yet often overlooked, part of whole-body wellness. Pelvic PT/OT helps with bladder leaks, pelvic pain, postpartum recovery. and so much more. #PelvicHealth#Pelvicpain

🔬 New in @EUEuropeanUrol: The PUrE RCT 1 compares FURS vs. ESWL for lower pole kidney stones ≤10 mm.
🧑⚕️💰 A landmark trial on both clinical and cost effectiveness.
#UroTwitter#Urolithiasis
1/
📈 Findings from 461 randomized patients (48 UK centers):
✔️ Stone-free: FURS 72% vs ESWL 36%
✔️ Retreatments: FURS 9% vs ESWL 27%
✔️ Health status (EQ-5D): similar
✔️ Cost: ESWL significantly cheaper
2/
💡 FURS delivers better clearance, but at higher cost (£65K/QALY).
➡️ ESWL provides equivalent QoL at lower cost — making it more cost-effective in the UK NHS system.
3/
📢 Practice-changing implications for #Endourology
✅ Personalized decision-making
✅ Counselling on retreatment risk vs. resource burden
✅ Reinforces 2019 NICE guidance favoring ESWL for stones <10 mm

We are honored to see our article Ureteral Stricture: Endoscopic Management published in @EurUrolFocus
📍In the article we summarised the thread:
1983 Percutaneous Pyelolysis
1983 Catheter Dilation
2019 Coated Balloon Dilation
📚Interestingly in 1948, in his landmark article “Intubated Ureterotomy” Davis DM asked “How does the ureter and particularly its muscularis heal around the tube?”
Today, balloon dilation with #PaclitaxelDextranCoatedBallon seems to answer Davis’s question related to smooth muscle cell
and fibrotic tissue proliferation
Thank you @cgratzke@MalteRieken@peepeeDoctor@sproietti81 for your kind invitation 🙏
