I love building things! 🪵🔨
Picked up a few beautiful offcuts of Palo Santo timber over the weekend for just $18.
Palo Santo is a dense, aromatic South American hardwood, prized for its durability, distinctive grain and natural oils.
Decided I’d turn the scraps into a little coffee table.
Gave AI photos and all the measurements and asked it to come up with a design.
After a few attempts and some tweaks, we settled on this! 👇
AI even worked out the cutting measurements, leg positioning and support beam, with enough timber left over for a matching hanging shelf.
From $18 worth of scrap wood to a custom-designed piece of furniture.
Now I just have to build the bloody thing! 😂
Pretty cool what you can do with a little creativity and AI.

The World Gold Council has just published a fascinating report outlining the potential future of digital gold.
🥇 $45–55B market today
📈 $160–170B projected by 2031
🌍 Up to $700B in long-term latent demand
But here's what caught my attention as a @BitGo investor.
Tokenizing gold is only part of the opportunity.
Someone needs to provide the regulated custody, secure infrastructure, trading, settlement and collateral management behind these assets.
That's exactly the infrastructure BitGo is building.
And as tokenized gold becomes usable for lending, collateral and financial settlement, the opportunity extends far beyond simply holding assets.
More institutional adoption could mean:
→ More assets on BitGo's platform
→ Greater recurring custody revenue
→ Increased settlement and trading activity
→ New financing and collateral opportunities
→ Deeper integration into traditional finance
@BitGo 's federally regulated custody infrastructure and involvement in DTCC's tokenization initiative make this a particularly interesting development.
None of this guarantees BitGo wins market share, but the direction of travel is becoming increasingly clear.
The real opportunity isn't just tokenization. It's owning the infrastructure that makes tokenized markets work.

Over the past 23 months, China has added 4.67 million ounces of gold to its reserves, worth approximately $19.5 billion.
