"AI ethics is one of those blue-sky ideas that appears in almost every AI governance conversation but is rarely defined with any precision. As India prepares to chair the #AISummit next month, the term must move beyond abstract principles into practical, enforceable, people-centred standards." writes Prof. (Dr.) Sushant Kumar of @JSGP_JGUindianexpress.com/article/opโฆ
My new article, "The Chimera Called AI Hub" in TheWire.in, argues how AI hubs risk becoming vast data pipelines feeding Big Techโs global models while the data of Indian citizens, institutions power algorithms monetised elsewhere, amplifying digital colonialism.
The Chimera Called AI Hub: The New Face of Tech Dependence and Data Extraction
If we are serious about โDigital India,โ it must be our digital India, not a data colony wrapped in tricolour branding.

We are thrilled to invite you to an open lecture by Prof. Sanjay Kumar, CSDS, Delhi on "Measuring Public Opinion: Why and How Should It be Measured?". Prof. Kumar has been the Director of CSDS from 2014 to 2020 and has worked extensively on Indian elections and voter behaviour.
We are truly excited to share that we hosted a Masterclass on writing Op-eds, feature articles, stories, policy briefs and a host of other forms of writings by veteran Australian journalist, Mr Martin Daly.
In a journalistic career spanning over 40 years, Mr Daly has worked across several media platforms, including print, TV and multimedia outlets, in Australia and the United States, besides other locations.
We were glad to host Dr. @sanjeevsanyal, Member Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India, for our 13th commencement lecture to the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy. Dr. Sanyalโs talk focused on Rethinking Economics based on Complexity Theory.
And was greeted by a packed auditorium. The program started with our Vice Chancellor, Dr. C. Rajkumar giving the inaugural address. This was followed up by Introduction to JSGP and the commencement speaker by our Dean, Prof. @SudarshanUN .
The talk followed interaction with the students, which witnessed alot of intriguing questions, and concluded with remarks from our Registrar, Prof. Dabiru Sridhar Patnaik.
Congratulations to Professor Dr. Annika Bose Styczynski of the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy for publishing a highly relevant new edited volume from Routledge on hashtag#Indiaโs #energy transition as it aims to achieve #NetZero by 2070.
We at the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP) strongly endorse this book, which has original case studies and empirical evidence on a range of alternative energy sources, green #technologies and #environmental considerations by leading scholars and practitioners.
As the editor puts it, India is a key member of โsolution-oriented countriesโ, and how it shapes its systems and institutions to move to hashtag#green energy while pursuing hashtag#economic growth will be decisive for the world.
