i’ve decided to no longer lead the design team at supabase. really happy for the team to get full time leadership they deserve.
pretty excited to be an IC in a few weeks and reclaim energy and focus on builders using agents.

i’m not even sure who in my team even went to university.
not sure if anyone else experienced this in sf but i went to a nice founder dinner today and I met someone new. One of the first questions he asked me was what school i went to.
“Stanford? MIT? Harvard?”
I told him UT Austin and it took him about 0 seconds to divert his attention and start texting on his phone. the conversation quickly ended after that.
apparently only people from t1 schools deserve basic respect in this city

if your that big picture systems person, we have a product designer role open.
Had multiple conversations about this recently with seniors at various companies and they’re losing designers to engineering in droves. Everyone wants to build and ship.
They’re now desperately trying to find big picture thinking designers again because those are now insanely rare and valuable.
