Just 11 years early...
Timing is everything, especially in startup building. Yesterday, I sent this screenshot to my co-founder of
@exitround,
@gsdean. In 2013, we built an early "AI for M&A." It was an ML graph extracting 25+ features of company characteristics (industry, revenue, funding, team size, location, etc.) to create an
#AI engine that matched potential Buyers and Sellers of companies across the technology ecosystem. We used Buyer-intent as they searched for potential Sellers, through a "Pandora-like" interest graph (HT
@tconrad) that pro-actively recommended potential M&A candidates through a semantic email interface that appeared like a human (but was AI). We had over 10,000 buy-side companies, 2,000 sell-side startups -- creating a possible 20,000,000+ potential matches (!) -- and helped facilitate over 110 M&A transactions over three years, but we had the wrong business model and the timing wasn't quite right.
Today, as I invest in companies and support entrepreneurs to grow, the team and TIMING are the two elements that I consider most crucial to success.
