Is Gears of War: E-Day a return to form for Xbox’s iconic franchise?
Loved diving back into this blast from the past, for @LifeIsAGameMag, to unpack why that gunplay and combat loop refuse to age.

Beat Valor Mortis, and wow… 😮💨
Easily one of the most creative, immersive, and refreshing Soulslike experiences in recent memory. The combat tension, intricate level design, and voice acting are phenomenal.
Has anyone else played this? What are your thoughts?
Shrek 2 getting a remaster next month proves licensed PS2 games are making a comeback!
Which licensed classic would you bring back?
My wishlist:
🎬 Madagascar
🥊 Shrek: Super Slam
🦝 Over the Hedge
🐼 Kung Fu Panda
Ain’t no way they’re seriously bringing this OG back?! 😳
Who else super hyped for this?
Shrek 2 was one of my favourite games as a kid back on PS2, never in a million years did I expect it would get a remaster!
Legit day one for me, I’m preordering! Gutted there’s no physical release though...

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine - Master Crafted Edition looks like it's finally heading to PS5 and Switch 2!
After being ESRB-rated back in June, a release looks imminent for late 2026 / early 2027.
Will you be playing, and on what platform?

Really love the traversal in Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse!
When talking about the elusive term “game feel” Twin Motion and Evil Empire are masters at it.
Gotta love that sense of personal mastery as you progress in Soulslikes.
First time I ran into this guy, I barely survived after 4 attempts and never wanted to fight him again.
Fast forward a couple of hours and I'm wiping the floor with him. Nothing beats that feeling.
Which game holds the title for the most satisfying headshots in gaming?
Popping headshots with the Longshot in Gears of War: E-Day has got to be up there for me. DEEPLY satisfying!
Just look at this shit! 😮💨👌🏽🔥
What game studio makes the best-looking environments? 🎮🎨
I have to go with Naughty Dog. The Last of Us Part I & II are masterclasses—the level of detail, visual fidelity, and subtle environmental storytelling is unmatched.
Can’t wait to see what they do with Intergalactic 🚀
Seeing a lot of posts about Valor Mortis’ gameplay, which is stellar, but the narrative, presentation, and voice acting also deserve a spotlight.
I’ve been really impressed by the performances, writing, and production quality straight out the gate.
Awesome intro too!
To be fair, it got better towards the end game, had zero performance issues for the last few hours.
Not sure if it got patched up, has anyone else noticed better performance of Gears of War: E-Day between launch and now? Add what are you playing on?
I love Gears of War: E-Day but performance on the Series S is rough 😮💨
It’s been a tough trade-off but I prefer the sometimes choppy framerate to constant muddy visuals. Really wish this got a PlayStation port.
What are you playing on, and how’s it running for you?
I see a lot of people complain that Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is a Castlevania game in name only.
Is this really the case?
What should I play to get the true Castlevania experience?
