We are reporting today from the two day employment appeal tribunal of Kevin Lister v New College Swindon at 10.30am before His Honourable Mr Justice Mansfield Kevin Lister (KL), a maths teacher with twenty years’ experience, lost his case in 2024 when the Bristol tribunal dismissed all claims in March 2024, finding no unlawful direct or indirect discrimination on grounds of religion or belief. His claim of unfair dismissal failed was also dismissed.

Yesterday, I spoke on an excellent, packed out panel at #BattleFest with @JoPhoenix1 @jo_bartosch @WomenReadWomen & Dennis Hayes from @AFAF_freespeech about lack of pluralism in publishing & whether the current infrastructure will allow women's presses to flourish commercially.

Cannot aggre more with @MForstater. Although I disagreed strongly with several panelists - esp the one who blames the Race Relations Act for the crisis in free speech.... Listening to @AkikoMHart from @libertyhq defend GC beliefs and place current conflicts in a human rights and civil rights framework made me feel v v happy.

Got home and was telling my partner how much I enjoyed the company of the most amazing women at #BattleFest. I was telling her aboit the incredible arguments and achievements of so many of the people I met and chatted with. I said it felt wonderful to know these strong warrior women. Her reply "Wonder what Leigh Downes is doing now"
