I'm still skeptical that "MacBook with touchscreen" is the whole story here.
I feel it's rather "MacBook with new input methods".
For example, with all those popular decks and controllers you can buy these days to just get the haptic feeling of turning a knob, I could imagine them adding something like an Apple Watch crown somewhere. Or maybe a redesigned touchbar or so.
And implement those things in an Apple like way into the software.
Only adding a touchscreen, wouldn't really feel like Apple, I think.
Within Apple, Cook and Ternus both felt that customers had begun to expect touch screens on Macs. But the company’s industrial design team remained opposed to the idea. The compromise was to create a device where touch was an option but not the primary interface.
