we need a benchmark for AI loyalty. Is your agent truly doing its best for you? Or is it secretly trying to minimize its developer's costs, steer you to its rev share partners, or drive its own retention?

I run an SMS newsletter and working with the phone carriers is hell. Skip that. Build on Photon. Let your agent reach mainstream users over text.
We raised a $4.5M seed to let agents text people. Since April: 50K+ developers, 450K monthly npm downloads and 10x revenue. Bring your agent to iMessage, WhatsApp and more → tryphoton.ai

Whoa, OpenAI just acquihired Patreon’s co-founder/CTO plus it’s heads of product and eng. Great for creators, and Jack will keep Patreon chugging, but also feels like a bit of coffin nail for the capital C ‘Creator Economy’
1/ I'm joining @OpenAI to lead Creator Product after over 13 years since starting @Patreon. Coming with me are my favorite crew Drew Rowny and Shannon Ma, Patreon's (now former) Head of Product and Head of Engineering. We're going to build together with Creators at OpenAI and share early access to a new set of tools that I think will be critically valuable to Creators and their communities.

Inspiration is the new bottleneck, and text-only limits discoverability. Who wins the agent-agnostic skill store?
Launching Skills on the Agent Store. Saving money, booking hotels, planning a date. Text the Agent Store what you need, or browse the marketplace to find the texting agent that does it best. what skills should be added? comment what your agent is best at 📲

Wait they fired the founder/CEO and then in the 33 hours before he regained control, signed $4M payoffs to each other? Are we sure these guys weren’t Forbes 30 under 30?

It’s so clear we need to evolve from “imagine, type, and configure clever prompt” to include “Browse pre-made templates for 1-click life improvements”.

Good one to add to the "unequivocally beneficial AI" list: @JackandJillAI's career coach voice agent Jack helps you figure out your employment options and apply, then its recruiter agent Jill recommends you to hirers. Just raised $40M to do the opposite of take your job.

None of his solutions to our housing crisis are to build more housing. That’s because the most consistent voters are neighborhood associations of homeowners who want to constrain supply so their values keep going up. Want an affordable SF for new families? Tech must vote.
A few years ago, San Francisco had lost its way. Today, crime is down, unsheltered homelessness is at its lowest level in 15 years, visitors are coming back, companies are bringing jobs, and San Franciscans feel our city is moving in the right direction. But too many are asking: Can I still afford to live here? This year, rents have risen more than 25% and more than 1,000 eviction notices have been filed. San Francisco is in a rent emergency. Today we are taking urgent action to help San Franciscans stay in their homes. Working with the Board of Supervisors, City Attorney David Chiu, and leaders across government and communities, we are putting forward a sweeping package to protect renters from eviction and prevent rent spikes. In partnership with Supervisors Danny Sauter, Matt Dorsey, and Jackie Fielder, San Francisco will: ➡️ Protect rent-controlled tenants from sudden spikes by capping combined annual impact of banked rent increases and capital improvement costs at 10% ➡️ Protect renters against evictions when they fall behind by less than one month of rent ➡️ Invest an additional $3 million in Tenant Right to Counsel, so more San Franciscans facing eviction can get full legal representation ➡️ Raise Ellis Act relocation assistance by 25% to reflect the rising cost of finding a new home ➡️ Strengthen enforcement of our tenant protection laws and invest $1 million in a citywide Know Your Rights campaign ➡️ Invest more than $54 million this year in emergency rental assistance, legal defense, and more As we help people stay in their homes today, we must confront what is driving housing costs up in the first place. We need more homes. So we’re doing both: building more housing to make San Francisco more affordable for the future, and keeping people in their homes today. We still have work to do, but people want to be here again—we should welcome them. And to build a lasting recovery, we need the people already here. The people who teach our children, keep us safe, run our restaurants, create our art, start new businesses, and make San Francisco a vibrant city. As our city grows, we should make sure that you can build your future here too.
