Fun fact: in 2020 Florida Republicans paid (illegally) a man with the same last name as the Democrat incumbent to run in an effort to confuse voters and they actually succeeded. The Democrat lost by 32 votes and the sham candidate received 6,000 votes. Election was not overturned.

Ben Yoho, an Ohio political consultant, reportedly sent someone to Pennsylvania to find Amy Acton's mother, who was living out of her car, to put her in front of a camera to denounce her daughter. Yoho was the recipient of hundreds of millions of dollars of DHS funds for ads of Kristi Noem while his wife, Tricia McLaughlin, worked under Noem. McLaughlin previously worked for Ramaswamy and denounced Bo French for his comments opposing the replacement of White students at UT-Austin. Acton's mother was living with cats, having previously been convicted of killing kittens, and has been estranged from her daughter since she fled with Acton's rapist, her step-father. Donna Arthur, Acton's mother, called her daughter a "liar."
