While some investors hailed Saylor as a visionary, my view was that he was a snake oil salesman. Well, price is proving to be the arbitrator. #MSTR has crashed through its trendline, and with #Bitcoin falling, it's tough to pick a target. My guess is $50. 1.2 x #XBT at $40k.
Strategy #MSTR used to trade at a 1.2x premium to #XBT but accelerated to an insane 5x late last year. It is now threatening the trendline that held that whole move. So if it breaks, it could threaten the entire post-election crypto euphoria.

I smell a rat. Why does #SamAltman#openapi need the taxpayer to guarantee their debt if they are going to make hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars? Has he just done a cash analysis and realised he's cash flow short?

I said in Dec that I don't believe in the strategy, but "in the mid to low $200s #Microstrategy#MSTR might be worth a punt". But it is too expensive vs #Bitcoin. At the current #XBT price, if the ratio returned to its long-run average, MSTR should be $100 not $260.
We are constantly bombarded by headlines like "S&P reaches its 28th record high". But it's all spin and cheerleading by a myopically focused US media and investment industry. As this Bloomberg story highlights, US stocks are underperforming, and Exceptionalism is over.
In the snippet below, a Bloomberg editorial builds on my original comment, highlighting how US "Exceptionalism Is Mediocre at Best". Bottom line: ignore the hype and focus on the importance of the dollar in driving the performance of your portfolio.

In March, when we recommended buying GDX, the gold miner ETF, one reason was the possibility of capital rotation away from US tech. After a 75% rally, it has been a good trade. But, big picture, I think we can go to 2011 levels, so the capital reallocation has barely started.
OUT NOW - how @JulianMI2 sees things:
- Trump admin wants Fed to enact financial repression
- precious metals have room to run
- complacency in equity market is building

Let me be clear: I think #TSLA isn't a stock, it's a cult, and Musk is a snake oil salesman, albeit a very skilled one. The question is whether he is good enough to push #Tesla stock above a PE of 230, which for the last 5 years has capped the rally?
If I hear another so-called expert suggest buying the #Russell I'm going to vomit! The $ was a key component of US Exceptionalism, and it's peaking. In that scenario, the RTY might rally on money illusion, but vs tangible assets like #Silver it will underperform.
Constant talk of US Exceptionalism, together with a myopic focus on mega-cap tech by the talking heads in the financial media, is blinding investors to the next big trade. As the $ falls, these stocks underperform, and tangible assets like XME massively outperform.

With car sales on track for a second consecutive annual worldwide decline, Musk's use of Optimus to justify Tesla's stock price is a classic example of "talking one's book" and also illustrates why this isn't a stock but a cult.
Below is the YTD relative performance of US stocks vs their peers. Yet more evidence that, despite all the hype and cheerleading we get in the US media, US stocks are underperforming. PS If this were in local currencies, the US would fall even lower.

We are bombarded by "S&P at new highs". But it's MONEY ILLUSION. By staying in US stocks, you are getting relatively poorer. Yes, in $ terms, the S&P is up 5% YTD, but flat in foreign currencies. As a US investor, you'd be up 20% in European stocks. This is why FX is key!
