I've long had the theory that 90% of animal noises could be translated to variations of "hey!"
it could be an angry hey, a friendly hey, a surprised hey, etc. it's the one word that seems flexible enough to be applicable to how most animals communicate

I did a systematic lyrical analysis of Tupac's song "Changes" with one of my classmates last semester and she tried to insist to me that we should censor the n-word in all the visuals and just write "N" in place of it
have a white student who refuses to quote the n word in their papers, so they just say [n-word] which is cracking me up

I reckon that this is probably part of a larger propaganda effort that seems to exist where the Chinese government is producing/adapting videos to be directed specifically at westerners instead of local viewers. I strongly doubt they just use that riff for whatever over there.
