So no-one else admitted to having a dahlia as big as their terrier’s head. How about a toadstool??

Thank you @fbuner for setting this out so coherently.
Myth or fact? 'The UK is one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world'. This🧵explains how a scientic finding is wrongly used to lament the UK's biodiversity crisis, especially on farmland. bbc.co.uk/newsround/58863097

38 homes destroyed. The Midlands wildfires did not stay in the countryside: they reached residential properties. In this BBC clip, University of Birmingham researcher Dr Kerryn Little examines how hot, dry vegetation creates dangerous fire conditions, especially where open land meets homes. We cannot rely on emergency response alone. Wildfire prevention must also address the vegetation and fuel that allow fires to spread.

Be careful what you wish for, the weather gods have a wicked sense of humour. I did ask for rain. I didn’t ask for 3 months worth in 10 minutes, to arrive when I was at the furthest point of the dog walk, and for some of it to be delivered frozen. #wetterthananotterspocket
