That's a wrap on #Money2020 USA! Stablecoins are inherently global but licenses, local rails and fiat currencies are still very much local. We’re building toward a world where onchain money can move in and out of bank accounts anywhere, and that’s what most of our conversations this week kept coming back to. @Mastercard announced Stablecoin Security, with Borderless as one of its two initial partners. Our CPO @alexjongarn joined Mastercard, @BVNKFinance and @keyrails on-stage to discuss what it takes to build security and trust into stablecoin payments. Our CEO @KevLeht joined @FlourishVC , @yellowcard_app and Honeycoin on the panel “Stablecoins in the Wild: Lessons from Africa, Asia and LatAm," and later spoke at Stablecoin Day on local payouts and the layers that make up a global stablecoin payments stack. Thank you to the organizers, panelists, partners and friends for a great week. We’ve never been more excited about where the industry is headed.

Our latest Borderless Benchmark report is out now. It covers the cost of stablecoin payments across 19 providers, 113 countries and 132 local rails, and this edition adds speed and reliability for the first time. This quarter, delivering a $10,000 stablecoin payment cost $52 at the median provider, versus about $135 to $150 by bank wire, and a $200 remittance cost 1% against the World Bank’s 6.36%. Payouts on instant rails like PIX and SPEI typically landed in two to three minutes, while a wire took a business day or more. The numbers also show how much the provider matters, with completion rates varying widely even on the same rail. Having more than one provider to route to makes a real difference in what a payment costs and whether it arrives. The full report: borderless.xyz/insights/bord…

@Mastercard just announced Stablecoin Security, with Borderless as an initial launch partner. As stablecoin payments scale, institutions need trust and transparency at every step. Stablecoin Security is designed to deliver exactly that, with a clearer view of risk across the stablecoin payment lifecycle, including before funds move onchain. Working with Mastercard will help give institutions the context they need to manage risk across providers, markets and currencies without adding another layer of operational complexity. Thank you to @Mastercard and @Keyrails, for building this alongside us!

Last quarter, the lowest-cost provider for delivering a stablecoin payment into Colombia changed 21 times in 92 days. Stablecoins solve settlement. Cost, speed, and reliability still come down to the local rails provider. Most payment companies only see the one or two providers they've integrated. We see 19 side by side. I'm digging into it with @HadickM from @dragonfly at Stablecon's Stablecoin Day on Sunday. Then Monday I'm on the Money20/20 stage with Flourish Ventures, HoneyCoin, and Yellow Card on how stablecoins actually work across LatAm, Africa, and Asia. Colombia had the most lowest-cost provider changes on our network. Which three countries do you think came next?

Samsung just enabled stablecoins natively on its devices, and it could be the biggest development the industry has ever seen for mass adoption. @KevLeht, CEO of @borderlessxyz, tells @RemyBlaireNews no private keys, no extra apps, and for remittances to underserved markets, “the adoption curve is insane here.”

Samsung Wallet is giving 82 million Galaxy devices in the U.S. the ability to send remittances abroad with stablecoins, delivered as local currency into bank accounts in 60+ countries. @Bastion is serving as the regulated U.S. entity originating those payments with local providers through the Borderless network. Our connectivity, operations and intelligence layers are the fastest, safest and most scalable path to market. This is one of the largest consumer brands in the world putting stablecoin payments in front of mainstream users, using our network and the financial institutions we serve. We exist to make on chain money globally interoperable with off chain money. Samsung putting that inside the wallet on 82 million devices is a major milestone toward that goal, and are proud to serve as an infrastructure provider servicing it at scale. Starting the last week of October, 82 million Galaxy owners in the US can hold stablecoins and make cross-border payments to bank accounts in 60+ countries, straight from Samsung Wallet, powered by Bastion. @nassyweazy, @CFriedman00, and the @Bastion team have spent years building enterprise-grade scale, compliance and risk controls for exactly this kind of moment. Nass said it best: financial infrastructure works best when people don't have to see it. We're grateful to play our part: the integrations, ops tooling, and routing intelligence that connect Bastion to the local regulated partners behind those payouts, built to hold up at Samsung scale. Proud to be part of their journey. Congrats to the whole team. It's time to bring the world onchain.
Proud to share that Bastion has been selected as one of Samsung Wallet's stablecoin partners, providing regulated infrastructure, custody, and cross-border remittances across 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices. It's an incredible milestone for Bastion, and the entire industry. Starting the last week of October, eligible Galaxy users will be able to hold and send stablecoins directly in Samsung Wallet, without installing a separate crypto app or managing private keys. We keep the ledger for each user's balance, verify and screen each user, and monitor transactions for fraud, money laundering, and sanctions exposure. Users can also send money from Samsung Wallet to bank accounts in more than 60 countries, delivered in local currency through our network of local regulated partners. The crypto industry has spent years talking about reaching the mainstream, and this is what it looks like. Most Galaxy users will never think about custody, compliance, blockchains, or remittance rails, and that's exactly the point. We built Bastion to handle that complexity so the experience feels simple and safe. Thank you to the Samsung Wallet team for their trust, and to the Bastion team who made this happen. When we started @Bastion, we believed stablecoins would become core financial infrastructure. But for the world’s largest enterprises and financial institutions to adopt them, that infrastructure would need to meet the regulatory standards they already expect from their banks. That meant building compliance, controls and governance into Bastion from the beginning, not adding them after the fact or waiting for others to pave the way. Today, the OCC granted Bastion preliminary conditional approval for a national trust bank charter, placing us among a small group of companies to reach this stage with the OCC. That matters because the bar should be high. Stablecoins are becoming part of the financial system, and the infrastructure powering them needs to be built for the regulatory and operational standards that come with that. Stablecoins are moving into the financial mainstream, but institutional adoption depends on infrastructure that can meet an institutional standard. We made the decision early to build Bastion for that standard. Today is an important validation of that decision, and we’re just getting started. bastion.com/article/bastion-…

This has been my favorite new use case since we started working together - excited it’s finally public! Borderless brings the local rails providers and the back office tooling, Iris brings the future that much closer to the present.
Today we're launching Iris, the financial network telecom operators plug into to earn on what they already own. Operators built the roads the digital economy runs on. Everyone else got rich building the city on top. From 2012 through 2025, traffic on operator networks grew more than 50% a year. Operator revenue grew about 1%. The companies on top took the difference. Operators own what those companies pay dearly for: distribution, the billing relationship, daily engagement. And money already runs through all of it, in subscriber payments, top-ups, advertising and settlement. Iris sits underneath all of it. Same business, new revenue, settled in dollars. Iris runs the rails. The operator keeps the economics. VIVA, a licensed carrier in Bolivia, is the first operator live on Iris. Real transactions, settled in USDi, operating reserves held in dollars. Until now, operators built everything and kept almost none of the value. Now they build almost nothing and keep almost all of it.

Introducing the Borderless Operations Layer. Adding providers should add coverage, not complexity and headcount. Today it means an RFI inbox per provider, a ledger per provider, and no single view of which rails are healthy. So we built the back office into the platform: → RFI Case Management: every RFI from every provider in one queue, tracked with a status and an age → Reconciliation: verified against each provider's own ledger as the money moves → Rail monitoring: continuous across the network, often ahead of the provider's own incident post Plus unified reporting, no-code routing, price discovery, refunds, balances, audit logs, permissions. Runs on the providers you've already integrated. Read the full breakdown: borderless.xyz/insights/the-…

CrissCross is live on the Borderless network 🌍 We're going deeper across our African corridors, and every customer gets it through the integration they already have: 👉 Local currency collections across 30+ African markets 👉 Payouts into local bank accounts and mobile money wallets, via direct bank integrations and 15+ mobile money operators 👉 Eleven Francophone West and Central African countries, where most provider coverage stops at the border 👉 Egypt and the UAE under a merchant-of-record structure, no local entity required Stablecoins made settlement easier. The last mile is still local, and CrissCross has been building that across Africa for years. Read more: borderless.xyz/insights/cris…

$MA's real business isn't credit cards, it's "franchise rules." @KevLeht, CEO of @borderlessxyz, tells @RemyBlaireNews their pilot with Mastercard brings that same governance model into stablecoins, letting enterprises clear compliance "one time instead of ten times" across underlying payment providers, calling it "the big unlock" for scaling the space.
