Terrible. OKC’s depth already being tested — big chance for rookie Aday Mara is coming. But once again another major injury for Holmgren. Hard for the Thunder to ever trust he can stay durable.
Oklahoma City Thunder's Chet Holmgren underwent treatment Friday to address a small patellar tendon tear and is expected to return to play in 8-to-10 weeks.

hi, hello: yahoo writer here! for whatever it’s worth, neither of these pieces were written by anyone at yahoo. the site houses a lot of work from other places (you’ll see links from The Athletic, for example) and I think this is an unfortunate case of nonsense — and it *is* nonsense — slipping through. I’ve sent these over & I think they’re in the process of being removed from the site.
A huge MIDDLE FINGER to @YahooSports as a staff and label! This is nasty work being done by them.

Cam Boozer with 18/12/12 in another Grizzlies win last night. Has there ever been a 19 year old NBA rookie with processing speed like this? Not an exaggeration to say Boozer has a Jokic-esque ability the way he quickly and deliberately sees the game.

The worst record to begin an NBA season is 0-18. The 2009 Nets and 2015 Sixers did it. The Sacramento Kings are 0-5. They get blown out every night. They won't be favored in any of their next 14 games. Only 4 of these games are vs. teams on back-to-backs. 0-19 is on the table. I said before the season that Sacramento would finish with its worst record in franchise history (16 wins or worse). That might have been underselling how ugly things could get for the Kings. Their schedule was fairly light to begin the year, and yet they still have the NBA's worst net rating. It's only about to get much harder.

Cooper Flagg is shooting 17/30 in the paint so far this season, and he's using the threat of his floater to create lobs for his big. @stevejones20 is surprised the league still hasn't figured out that he wants to drive left.

The Miami Heat ran a season-high 57 pick-and-rolls in their first win, and Giannis set more screens himself (24) than in the previous four losses combined (23). On what felt different for Miami with @stevejones20:

AJ Dybantsa scored 19 points in his NBA debut and played with a ton of patience within the flow of the Wizards offense. I look forward to seeing him get more on-ball creation chances as his rookie year progresses. He's going to be a problem.

Ja Morant is looking a lot like Ja Morant once again. Some of these paint finishes and passes are just so gorgeous. Finished with 23 points, 4 assists, and a clutch bucket in the final 90 seconds. Comeback Player of the Year?

I agree. Mikel Brown is a killer. Unafraid to take big shots. Without Nolan Traore in the second half and Julius Randle in OT, Brown showed a lot of heart and massive skill creating his own shot. If he can get those to fall who knows how high his ceiling could be.
It might have been a loss but Mikel Brown Jr mentality and aggression to finish off the opponent you have to like. He could've been passive got fouled but he wanted to finish off the Celtics I can't be mad at that, you can't teach killer mentality #Netsworld

Boy that's a rough loss for Brooklyn. So many chances to put Boston away in overtime. One bad decision after another by Mikel Brown, but hard to blame a rookie guard in his third game and not the third-year head coach Jordi Fernández for better preparing his team for a moment like that. Keeping Brown in the game for a defense-only possession says it all to me about how ill-prepared Fernandez was. And the Nets remain winless.
